yep.

Well, it seems I've been absent from here awhile... rest assured I still read comments and keep up to date with journals when I can. And, of course, I have been looking at everyone's wonderful art. Me, well, I've been super busy with work and life matters and being a parent, which has made keeping this site up to date difficult. Hopefully I'll return to it soon, clean up my mess of a gallery, and submit some new stuff... though most of my new creative work has been home renovations and furniture building.

Hugs and high-fives to the usual lot.

ps. If you're at all interested in woodworking (and perhaps you are a car enthusiast)... check this out: [link] - possibly the coolest graduate project, well, ever!

You can never really start from the start
The ending begins inside of the heart
The people, they love to remember your name
It's a hospital bed but it's all just the same

Why did you leave when you will return?
Your past is your future, your future will learn
The crows that fly, we'll try not to find
Do things once, you know you'll do it twice

So I want kids with safety bricks
And a car thats quick
So we can split

Why did protection burn down your home?
The smoke was so rich that they gave you a throne
Turning clue hands into sunrise
Three times the charm, three times you pay the price

So I want kids with safety bricks
and a car thats quick
So we can split
I want kids with safety bricks
And a car thats quick
So we can split

A miniature live inside of a grin
I'll stop for a moment and try to refrain
I'm hoping you learn just like when you were a kid
Let's hop a fence and do what we always did

softness under hard light.

Sun Jul 27, 2008, 10:19 AM
okay my latest series is up... (bites nails).

it's waaaaay more risque then anything i've ever posted on here. i know there will be comments on whether this is art or porn - i leave that up to the viewer. my intention was, as the title of the series states, to show softness under harsh lighting (a single fluorescent coil lamp)... after discussion with the model, we decided to go this route.

from a technical standpoint, this was also my first time shooting a model fully in raw format, and using a raw work flow for processing; no major manipulations were done... just some simple blurring to eliminate any imperfections and contrast adjustment to bring out the lighter tones. if you are interested in how to get such warm tones when using fluorescent lighting... drop me a line and i'll give you the details.

hope you all enjoy and look forward to your comments and criticism.

and kudos to the model (and my partner) for being so comfortable and willing to take part in this:
